During Holy Week, the Gospel readings remind us of the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus, and of our special connection to the land where these events unfolded. Supporting the Church in the Holy Land is a long-standing mission, rooted in the call of St. Paul (cf. 2 Cor. 8–9), and an opportunity to stand in solidarity with Christians living there today.
Pope Leo XIII and now Pope Francis have asked Catholics worldwide to participate in the Pontifical Good Friday Collection, which helps sustain parishes and schools, preserve sacred shrines in Jerusalem, Nazareth, and Bethlehem, and care for refugees and vulnerable communities. Christians in the Holy Land now represent less than 2% of the population and face unique challenges.
While this page allows you to give online at any time, donations made around Good Friday have special significance, supporting the life and mission of the Church in the Holy Land. Your generosity is a witness of peace, faith, and hope — please consider giving to this historic mission.
